We have a 2 year old beautiful female pitbull mix breed that we adopted last year from the SPCA but unfortunately we have realized that she needs to be in a home with NO CHILDREN She has a very sweet demeanor, but does not prefer the company of small children. She gets along very well with all adults, other dogs, cats, and loves to snuggle on the couch. She is a great guard dog, and would really be a loving and loyal companion to a home with no young kids. Her name is '', she is house trained, she is up to date with all of her vaccinations, and is spayed...Looking to 're-home' her ASAP, CRATE INCLUDED. We do not want her to have to go ... (Read More)back to the SPCA but she is no longer able to live indoors due to her unpredictable nature around our 2 young children (Less)

Rescue Me ID: 15-07-07-00037Luna (female)

Pit Bull Mix    Age: Puppy

Compatibility: Good with Most Dogs, Good with Kids and Adults
Personality: High Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Needs to be Spayed, Needs Vaccinations

Luna is in need of a family who has the time to properly train and spend time with her. She is very loving and very loyal. She is potty-trained and cage-trained. Luna loves to figure out how to escape and this is the biggest reason we can't keep her. She has taught her mother and brother the many unique ways she's learned to escape the fenced in back yard. This is why I always say she's very intelligent, however; that intelligence needs to be put to good use and my family doesn't have the time.

Rescue Me ID: 15-03-07-00007Hank (male)

Pit Bull    Age: Young Adult

Compatibility: Not Good with Other Dogs, Good with Kids and Adults
Personality: Average Energy, Submissive
Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

Hank is a beautiful blue Pitbull boy! He is about 60 lbs and approximately 4yrs old. He was found as a stray and only weighed 38lbs. He very quickly came back to health at his foster home and we got to meet the sweet boy hiding behind the skinny stray : ) He is the sweetest dog you will ever meet! He LOVES everyone. He is very smart and easy to train. He knows all of his basic commands very well. He also walks on a leash like a pro! He seems to be too interested in the kitties at his foster home so he should have a home where someone is willing to teach him that kitties are our friends or where he will not be around kitties. He has not been ... (Read More)socialized well with different dogs. We are working on this with him now. If he were adopted tomorrow he would have to be the only dog in the house or with a family who was willing to do very slow introductions to their other dogs over weeks or months. Hank was picked up with his doggy friend who he was with as a stray so we know he can get along with other dogs. We will continue to work with him to help him socialize better with other dogs. We don't expect Hank to be around very long. He is beautiful and sooooo sweet! (Less)

PIease Read Before Adopting a Pit Bull in Delaware
Pit Bull Dogs can make good pets in Delaware if they match your IifestyIe. The American Pit Bull Terrier is a powerful dog with an undeserved reputation for inherent viciousness. A Pit Bull that receives attention, firm training, and thorough socialization makes a wonderful family guardian that is trustworthy with children. Pit Bulls need committed, experienced owners that exude leadership. Pit Bulls excel at high level obedience with proper training. Pit Bulls have been bred for dog fights, and unfortunately a dog that is abused, neglected, or whose instinctive aggression is encouraged, can become hostile and dangerous. Pit Bulls can adapt to apartment life with enough exercise.
