Captain is a very sweet dog, he loves to cuddle, go for car rides, go for walks, runs and bike rides. He is crate trained, walks well on a leash, knows basic commands sit, stay, shake. She responds to an encouraging voice and is gentle around smaller dogs. Bigger dogs do not seem to faze her and she loves attention, whoever it comes from. Tobe is a very energetic pup, and has tons of potential to learn. She knows sit, lay down, heel, stay and come. She LOVES to give kisses, while also cuddling up right next to you to spend some quality time. She is toy posesssive and refuses to share her toys, so when playing with a toy, she must be by herself. She does great with other dogs, loves to chase and be chased. She can play for hours with another dog until eventually she gets tired and wants to cuddle and take a nap. 14263063 - American Pit Bull Terrier Mix - White/Beige - Female - 7 years old - 70 pounds - Lexi is a 7 year old pit bull mix that gets along with everybody! She was raised with cats, dogs, and kids, and she is oh so gentle! Lexi rides well in a car and takes treats nicely. She is house-trained and is currently working on her crate training. She MUST be an indoor-only dog as her coat is so short that she can only handle being outside in the cold for a few minutes at a time. We've recently had a behavior evaluation done on our dog with the addition of a new baby and were told that he needs to be re-homed to the right home or PTS. He is a great dog that loves the outdoors and loves his people. He's loyal and a huge snuggler. He has anxiety issues and he needs a home that can really stimulate him and is savvy in dealing with the issue. He is dog selective and seems to get along better with small dogs without toys/food around. He would be great in a home with a young, active couple with no children and no plan for children. He has been a great companion to us and we want to see him go to the best home ... (Read More)possible. He is dog selective and has mild hip dysplasia but it doesn't seem to get him down. Sosa is a sweetheart that came to us as a puppy when my son-in-law felt he needed a pitbull. He had potty-trained himself by watching the other dogs and was absolutely perfect until my daughter and her husband left home and now has slipped and started to mess in the house occasionally whereas before he would rather eat his own foot than do so. We are losing our home and cannot keep him or take him where ever we end up (daughter and s-i-l are in North Dakota in a man camp and cannot have the dog)so are looking for a good home so that he does not have to be destroyed. Saturday evening we found this dog running loose. He only had faded collar and leash but no tags. He is not chipped. He looks like he is part pit bull and terrier. He is at the Post Falls Shelter. He was very scared but traveled well in the car. Someone please help him. I can't as I have 2 dogs and 2 cats. He only has 8 days. This shelter is run by the Post Falls Police Department. Jake was recently adopted from a dog pound, his likes or dislikes were not known at the time, but has since been discovered. He does NOT like Cats, Chickens, Goats or Horses. He WILL go after cats & chickens & approach the others. He has recently killed chickens. We do not know his real name, but named him Jake. He sort of responds to it. He's GREAT with kids, he loves to be with the family, loves to be ON the family. :) he does NOT like to be put in a kennel or tied up. IF you tie him up, he will escape from his collar & harness. We live in a very remote area of Idaho (Hollister). Someone dropped off Cleo and she made her way to our home. We have tried to care for her...but, with our current income...we find it impossible to care for her the way she deserves. I have taken her to 'People for pets' Humane Society to get spayed/shots and I am sponsoring her adoption. I am an animal lover! And Cleo deserves a good home... I just cant give it to her. She is so sweet...warm brown eyes...and always smiling and giving kisses. She is loyal and gentle..except when she is so happy and excited to see you she gets a little jumpy! Cocoa is a very sweet young gir, about 1.5 years old, who loves to cuddle. She is crate trained but does not do well on her own for long periods of time. She loves other dogs, as she has lived with one for the past year, but takes some time to warm up. She is very fearful of new people, but generally warms up to adults quickly. Pit Bull Dogs can make good pets in Idaho if they match your IifestyIe. The American Pit Bull Terrier is a powerful dog with an undeserved reputation for inherent viciousness. A Pit Bull that receives attention, firm training, and thorough socialization makes a wonderful family guardian that is trustworthy with children. Pit Bulls need committed, experienced owners that exude leadership. Pit Bulls excel at high level obedience with proper training. Pit Bulls have been bred for dog fights, and unfortunately a dog that is abused, neglected, or whose instinctive aggression is encouraged, can become hostile and dangerous. Pit Bulls can adapt to apartment life with enough exercise.
