|Rescue Me ID: 18-04-17-00169Marie (female)|
FOSTER LOCATION: Kuna, ID Marie is a two-year-old Lab/Pit mix who first arrived in Idaho last October as part of a transfer of dogs to the Idaho Humane Society from a shelter in Texas. She was adopted in January by a wonderful man who understood Marie was a little nervous and insecure and tried very hard to give her time and space to become familiar with and comfortable in his home. Unfortunately, despite two months of his best efforts, Marie remained afraid of her new guardian, so he contacted Fuzzy Pawz for help in finding her a forever home where she could thrive. While she's been in foster, Marie has taught us several things about herself. First, she gets A LOT of confidence and comfort from having other dogs around, so any potential adopters must have at least one other confident, engaging dog. (Marie has been living with four dogs of varying sizes and energy levels, and honestly seems to love every dog she meets!) Marie's former guardian didn't have other pets and found it very difficult to take Marie on walks or generally leave the house, but if there's another dog there she is much more willing to explore and cooperate. Second, Marie is more comfortable with women - she bonded to her current foster mom fast and hard. For this reason, potential adopters must have at least one adult female in the house - this is sort of a security blanket for Marie. Third, Marie badly wants to trust and love at least some men. While she never grew acclimated to her prior guardian, she did like his father, and in her current foster home Marie has shown strong interest in the adult male. Potential adopters need to understand that Marie will likely not be as initially trusting of or confident with men, and that it could take many months before she fully 'accepts' a new man in her life. They need to be willing to be patient, go at Marie's pace, and not become frustrated or take it personally if Marie exhibits behavior such as barking at them. Although Marie's activity level was non-stop her first few days in foster, once she got comfortable she calmed down and now has a deep appreciation for naps and snuggles on the couch with her foster mom and foster brother pups (and sometimes foster dad too!). However, Marie also still has plenty of puppy in her and enjoys playing with other dogs outside, wrestling on the couch, and checking out toys! Marie is potty trained and crate trained - using a crate in her forever home will be important, as it gives Marie a safe place to which she can retreat if she's feeling uncomfortable or overwhelmed. In her foster home, Marie has been sleeping in her crate every night but hasn't chosen to hang out there otherwise. She also tolerates it well if she needs to be left for a few hours, but in her prior home she did begin chewing on the crate so she shouldn't be left for extended periods or put in the crate without first having an opportunity to burn off some energy. Marie has learned 'sit' and has shown she is a fast learner who's eager to please. She hasn't had much experience going out on walks - in her prior home walks were never successful and frequently required 'rescue' from a neighbor with a dog - walks with a trusted human and a dog buddy will be important for Marie as she learns to navigate the world. If you are looking for a new amazing friend and you can give her a bit of time, patience and an infinite amount of love then Marie is your girl. We'd love to talk to you about her just fill out an application: http://fuzzypawzrescue.com/adopt/adoption-application-2/ Marie is spayed, vaccinated and microchipped Marie's adoption fee is $75 (Less)

|Rescue Me ID: 18-04-04-00145Chevy (male)|
Chevy is in need of some training, some special attention and lots of tlc. He has been passed around from home to home and never the kind of home he needed. He has spent too much time alone. Too much time on a chain and not enough interaction. This little man is a work in progress. He is coming along very well. We are hoping to change his life forever. He loves his yard and his toys, especially balls. Food is a super important thing in his life. He comes running when he's called in for dinner. He is better with women. Takes him awhile to warm up to men but if you have a snack, especially jerky he will be your best friend. He is a bit rambunctious so would not be a good fit for small children. Chevy is so happy when he's out playing in the yard with one of his favorite people. He has a big ole smile and a fun little personality. He would do best as an only dog and definitely no kitties. He would love to go hiking and camping and have lots of room to play. He needs an inside home and a fenced yard. Chevy is an 18 month old Healer Pit bull mix. He is neutered, up on all his vaccinations and micro chipped. Please call Lorrie if you can take just a little extra time to give him a chance 208 339 0130 or email email@example.com (Less)

|Rescue Me ID: 18-04-04-00129Harper (female)|
Harper always has a big ole smile that goes from ear to ear. Her cute little heart shaped nose fits her perfectly. Harper is definitely a 'Love-A-Bull ':) She has the cutest personality and an adorable little wiggle but. She loves to army crawl in the grass , she loves to chase bugs, and she loves toys. . Harper has discovered that she is very talented ball player. She didn't even know what a toy or ball was when she first came in. Life is good now. Harper sits very politely for every yummy treat and she is so gentle. She is great with kids and loves her people. She wants to be right by your side all the time. She walks well on leash and is totally potty trained. Harper likes other dogs as long as they don't jump on her. She likes to play nicely. :) Harper is about 18 months old. She is spayed, up on all her vaccinations and micro chipped. She needs an inside home, a safe fenced yard to play in and a family who loves to have fun and of course always includes her. Just like every other puppy, Harper needs a forever home. She would love to show you just how sweet and wonderful she is. Please call Lorrie 208 339 0130 or email firstname.lastname@example.org for an application. (Less)

|Rescue Me ID: 18-03-10-00167SQUISHY (female)|
Meet Squishy, she is a red nose pit mix that is about 4 years old. She would be best suited as an only dog in the home or a very knowledgeable person with her breed and temperament. She is good with people but very dog selective. She does have separation anxiety so would be great with someone that is home most of the time. She will need a daily exercise routine to help her be the wonderful girl she is. If you would like to meet Squishy please fill out our adoption application. There is a $100 adoption fee. Fenced yard is required. Please email us at email@example.com if you have any questions. |Rescue Me ID: 18-02-26-00149Sammie (female)|
Sammie was rescued by my fiance a year ago out of UT. We believe she is about 12 years old. Now that we are living together her anxiety has escalated mostly toward me. She would do best in a house with one person that she can bond to. Difficult to put a collar on her and fearful to be put into a car.

|Animal ID: A37409335Niko (male)|
Introducing Niko a 1-year-old Pit Bull mix. Niko is a social butterfly with a lot of energy! This little guy lives to play fetch and is looking for a home who would love to throw the ball for him and give him plenty of exercise opportunities. Niko is still a puppy at heart and will need some continued training, but he already has some skills on board including 'sit' and 'drop it.' Niko enjoys other dogs and will do best in a home with another dog that matches his exuberance for play! No cats for this guy though. Niko's favorite things to do are (of course) play with his ball and love on people! Niko does need some manners with walking on a leash but does really well using his Easy Walk Harness. Niko is a vibrant little fellow who would love to find a family that will help him grown into a wonderful canine citizen! A fenced yard for Niko would be a wonderful benefit too but is not required. |PIease Read Before Adopting a Pit Bull in Idaho|
Pit Bull Dogs can make good pets in Idaho if they match your IifestyIe. The American Pit Bull Terrier is a powerful dog with an undeserved reputation for inherent viciousness. A Pit Bull that receives attention, firm training, and thorough socialization makes a wonderful family guardian that is trustworthy with children. Pit Bulls need committed, experienced owners that exude leadership. Pit Bulls excel at high level obedience with proper training. Pit Bulls have been bred for dog fights, and unfortunately a dog that is abused, neglected, or whose instinctive aggression is encouraged, can become hostile and dangerous. Pit Bulls can adapt to apartment life with enough exercise.
