Rescue Me ID: 15-01-26-00118Smokey (male)

Pit Bull Mix    Age: Adult

Health: Neutered

Smokey is a 6 year old neutered male Pit Bull. This boy has an athletic build, appears in great health, and has the best darn 'pitty' smile. Smokey came to us from another rescue who saved him from an owner who basically tied him in the yard and left him so there's not a lot of background to share. He is reported to be very affectionate, which he's already demonstrated with the volunteers. He just wants to be a big old lap dog. It's unknown if Smokey is house or kennel trained. He is leash trained and although he likes to explore, he does walk on loose lead with some gentle encouragement. Smokey knows how to sit and shake with both paws. It ... (Read More)is documented he shouldn't be around cats or chickens. Smokey is high energy and shows some anxiety in his kennel; he is vocal and even howls on occasion but should settle down in a home setting given lots of love and adequate exercise. If you'd like to meet Smokey, visit the rescue between 11 am and 4 pm any day. (Less)

Finn MacCool can jump high, run fast, and love big. Finnsey is a high energy dog who loves to play and cuddle. He's a champ at staying in his kennel for the 8 hours his family is at work. He's potty trained and can follow basic commands. He's a great dog if you're willing to put in the time. Our family just doesn't have the time for him that he deserves!

Pit Bull Mix    Age: Young Adult

Compatibility: Good with Most Dogs, Good with Kids and Adults
Personality: Average Energy, Submissive
Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current

Zoey is a spayed 3 year old female. She is housebroken. She is very loving and friendly. She is a very sweet dog but very stubborn. She does not like cats but gets along great with other dogs. Zoey will 'reorganize' items if left alone, she doesn't chew on them but will toss pillows, shoes, clothes around. Zoey will sometimes submissive pee if yelled at or if she thinks she is going to get disciplined with a loud noise. She needs a home with a fenced yard as she will run and not come back until she is ready. Stop by and meet Zoey. Rescue Me ID: 14-10-11-00214Bella (female)

Pit Bull Mix    Age: Young Adult

Compatibility: Good w/ Most Dogs, Good w/ Most Cats, Good w/ Adults (Not Kids)
Personality: Average Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current

Bella has a great, mellow temperment and used to live with other dogs and even cats. However, Bella is dog selective and can get in fights with certain dogs, she doesn't seem to get along with dominant females. We feel her ideal home would be where she can thrive as the only dog. Bella is a sweet, cuddly, couch potato...she will need to be loved and adopted into a home where she will be welcomed as part of the family and an inside dog. We prefer her to go to a home with humans who are experienced, and comfortable with the 'pitbull' mix breed. Bella will need a fenced yard to play in. Although Bella has lived with cats, it's unknown if ... (Read More)she is truly compatible with all cats. Bella has only been around adults, so we aren't positive how she would be around children. Older children would probably be ok, but not recommended with younger children. Remember to ALWAYS supervise your children around new pets adopted into the home. A home check will need to be completed prior to final adoption. Thank YOU! (Less)

PIease Read Before Adopting a Pit Bull in Idaho
Pit Bull Dogs can make good pets in Idaho if they match your IifestyIe. The American Pit Bull Terrier is a powerful dog with an undeserved reputation for inherent viciousness. A Pit Bull that receives attention, firm training, and thorough socialization makes a wonderful family guardian that is trustworthy with children. Pit Bulls need committed, experienced owners that exude leadership. Pit Bulls excel at high level obedience with proper training. Pit Bulls have been bred for dog fights, and unfortunately a dog that is abused, neglected, or whose instinctive aggression is encouraged, can become hostile and dangerous. Pit Bulls can adapt to apartment life with enough exercise.
