'Libby, also called Libby Lou, is a young and spunky girl. She is a great family dog would make a great addition to nearly any family. She loves all people and dogs that she meets! She currently lives with dogs of all sizes and does great with them all. She would LOVE to have a doggy playmate in her forever home. She also loves to snuggle right up and share her bones and toys with her dog friends. Libby also loves playing with toys and going for walks. Libby loves being with her 'people' and will snuggle right up with you on the couch! She is a good car-rider and enjoys going for rides. Libby absolutely loves kids and would love a home with ... (Read More)kids to play with. Since she is a bit bouncy and could knock younger children over, slightly older kids would probably be best. Libby takes turns sleeping on the beds at night and sleeps very well all through the night. She is also happy sleeping next to you on a dog bed. She is also doing very well with her crate training. She is crated whenever we leave the house and does just fine. Libby is working on her potty training and is doing well when on a schedule to go outside. She loves all dogs and all people, but cannot live with cats or other smaller animals (guinea pigs, etc.). However, she does perfectly with a little 10 pound dog that she currently lives with. She is learning basic commands very well and knows what toys and bones are hers to chew on in the house. Libby loves to snuggle and give kisses and would love if she could meet you! She is available for adoption through the New Ulm Brown County Humane Society. She is currently living in a foster home with other dogs and learning good doggie manners. If you are interested in Libby and would like more information, please call Kathy, the foster, at 507-276-5687 or keckwright@hotmail, or call the New Ulm Brown County Humane Society. Libby is a gentle, loving, and playful girl that loves dogs and kids and would make a great addition to nearly any family! (Less)

Rescue Me ID: 14-08-05-00596Canela (female)

Pit Bull    Age: Young Adult

Compatibility: Good with Most Dogs, Good with Kids and Adults
Personality: High Energy, Very Submissive
Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current

Canela is a wonderful dog and I would love to keep her but my husband doesn't want the responsibility of walking her and generally caring for her. We have had her for 3 and a half years and my husband is simply tired of the extra work of having a dog. She rarely barks (mostly when she is happy) which is a plus. She does require a very SOLID kennel when alone in the house because she has dealt with separation anxiety in the past. We have worked with her to get her to a very manageable level with separation anxiety. Also we are willing to work with her new owners on her transition to a new home.

PIease Read Before Adopting a Pit Bull in Minnesota
Pit Bull Dogs can make good pets in Minnesota if they match your IifestyIe. The American Pit Bull Terrier is a powerful dog with an undeserved reputation for inherent viciousness. A Pit Bull that receives attention, firm training, and thorough socialization makes a wonderful family guardian that is trustworthy with children. Pit Bulls need committed, experienced owners that exude leadership. Pit Bulls excel at high level obedience with proper training. Pit Bulls have been bred for dog fights, and unfortunately a dog that is abused, neglected, or whose instinctive aggression is encouraged, can become hostile and dangerous. Pit Bulls can adapt to apartment life with enough exercise.

lnteresting Pit Bull Trivia Low-Cost Minnesota Spay & Neuter Clinics
Some people believe that Pit Bulls are identical to what Bulldogs were in the past. Teddy Roosevelt owned Pit Bulls. Unfortunately, Pit Bulls are often used for illegal dog fighting. A disproportionate number of Pit Bulls are put down in major American cities each year.
