Rescue Me ID: 16-05-17-00022Baby (female)

Pit Bull    Age: Young Adult

Compatibility: Good w/ Most Dogs, Good w/ Most Cats, Good w/ Kids and Adults
Personality: Average Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current

Baby came to us neglected and in need of immediate vet care for a skin, eye, and ear infection that had become painful and uncomfortable for her. Her est. age is 1.5yrs old. She is a dog who seems to understand that she's been rescued and shows her gratitude. During her first vet visit we had lazer therapy done around her ears in the hopes of providing immediate pain relief. Right there on the exam room floor she laid down and slept so peacefully she was snoring. A peaceful, safe, sleep that she likely hadn't experienced in a long time. Baby has been healing well, is friendly with other dogs and older kids, small children unknown, completely ... (Read More)ignores cats, and is potty trained. She is crate trained but vocal at first, the only time she's ever vocal, settling down after some time. She takes comfort in the presence of the people she's met in rescue always wanting to be right by someone's side. Her ideal home, although not a requirement, would be one with another friendly dog close to or near her size that she can play with or with someone who is home most of the day and/or that enjoys having her company while out and about. Baby deserves stability and a safe place to call her own and is in need of a forever home. Please contact us if you would like to meet her!! (Less)

Chelsea is a sweet and loving girl who absolutely adores people. Her favorite thing to do is to snuggle right next to you. Chelsea has the cutest button nose and by FAR the best smile I have ever seen on a dog. She even lets out little snores when she sleeps. This girl is guaranteed to make you smile all the time. She has not been around small children. If you're looking for a beautiful, smart, and loyal life long companion, Chelsea is definitely your girl!

This animal is available to licensed rescue groups only.  Please do not enquire unless with a licensed rescue group. Angel is a very good dog and needs a specific home. I am putting in applications to surrender her as I refuse to put her down. I am posting this in hopes that if a stone I have not turned over sees it they may contact me. Angel in higher energy and needs to have a job along with regular exercise. She is an amazing running partner and very good on a leash. Angel is amazing with kids and adults alike. She knows many commands and is a polite eater. She is an amazing dog is every way except one. She is dog aggressive. This being said she can not, absolutely not live with other dogs. If she is in a outdoor area with other dogs she needs ... (Read More)to be leashed and under constant control or muzzled if you can not keep an eye on her behavior at all times. We love this dog! However we love our other tree dogs and our children as well. Angel did not do it on purpose and I know this ad have been told I need to be 100% honest. She caught my hand in her recent scuffle with our male dog. She is in isolation and all dogs at this time are on a scheduled rotation. Please I know she is amazing and she was a self rescue....she needs the benefit of the doubt and someone to see how great she is! (Less)

aisy was a stray found in St Paul, and brought to the St Paul AHS . She was actually a dog known to the AHS community outreach person. Daisy had a microchip, but sadly was not reclaimed by her family. She was living with children, no cats, and she does seem very excited by the sight of small animals, but her attention can be redirected . She is particularly easy to walk when using a Gentle Leader, and is becoming a much calmer dog than when we first got her. She's very responsive to the training sessions at Happy Tails on Monday nights and is currently successful in her day care play groups. She's going to be the love of someone's life soon, ... PIease Read Before Adopting a Pit Bull in Minnesota
Pit Bull Dogs can make good pets in Minnesota if they match your IifestyIe. The American Pit Bull Terrier is a powerful dog with an undeserved reputation for inherent viciousness. A Pit Bull that receives attention, firm training, and thorough socialization makes a wonderful family guardian that is trustworthy with children. Pit Bulls need committed, experienced owners that exude leadership. Pit Bulls excel at high level obedience with proper training. Pit Bulls have been bred for dog fights, and unfortunately a dog that is abused, neglected, or whose instinctive aggression is encouraged, can become hostile and dangerous. Pit Bulls can adapt to apartment life with enough exercise.

lnteresting Pit Bull Trivia Low-Cost Minnesota Spay & Neuter Clinics
Some people believe that Pit Bulls are identical to what Bulldogs were in the past. Unfortunately, Pit Bulls are often used for illegal dog fighting. A disproportionate number of Pit Bulls are put down in major American cities each year.
