Pit Bull    Age: Young Puppy

Compatibility: Good w/ Most Dogs, Good w/ Most Cats, Good w/ Kids and Adults
Personality: Average Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

Well, this little one has been through hell already in his short life but you'd never guess by his sweet nature. He was purchased with his sister down south, brought up to ND, then the couple split up. The male kept Mel and his sister Carla and to get back at his ex, starved them to near death and then dumped them in a crate to die. Luckily, a good woman found them before that fate, and we brought them into rescue. Their tails didn't stop wagging for their first meal! Mel was born in April and is now a healthy and bouncy puppy. He is great with other dogs, good with cats, and LOVES TO CUDDLE. He is just incredible. He is a ... (Read More)sweetheart that deserves an amazing home. We pray his journey is over soon and he doesn't grow up in a kennel at rescue but we know that is likely due to BSL in this area. That makes finding him a home near impossible! Transport is an option! PLEASE help this amazing boy find a home and family!! Take a chance on the forgotten. If interested in meeting and potentially adopting, please complete the adoption application located at forbellessake.org. *Adoption fee is $175 All residents are spayed/neutered, vaccinated, dewormed, microchipped, and treated for any other known medical needs. Breeds cannot be guaranteed. If a yard is present a fence is required. Housetraining is not guaranteed but crate training is worked on with all residents. (Less)

Rescue Me ID: 17-02-15-00494Starlin (female)

Pit Bull Mix    Age: Puppy

Compatibility: Good w/ Most Dogs, Not Good w/ Cats, Good w/ Kids and Adults
Personality: Average Energy, Somewhat Dominant
Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current

Starlin is a gorgeous 1 year old looking for her forever home! She's stunning. And sadly, she has been in rescue for most of her life. We are doubtful she will ever find a home and a family because of her breeds but that doesn't mean we will stop looking. Starlin is good with other large dogs, not good with cats, etc. She is a people's dog and connects and bonds with her people. I use her as my jogging partner and she runs so nicely next to me...well, she practically walks while I run ;) Who am I kidding. We know she may be stuck in a kennel at rescue forever due to BSL in our area and that breaks our hearts. Transport is most ... (Read More)definitely an option if interested in adopting. PIease Read Before Adopting a Pit Bull in North Dakota
Pit Bull Dogs can make good pets in North Dakota if they match your IifestyIe. The American Pit Bull Terrier is a powerful dog with an undeserved reputation for inherent viciousness. A Pit Bull that receives attention, firm training, and thorough socialization makes a wonderful family guardian that is trustworthy with children. Pit Bulls need committed, experienced owners that exude leadership. Pit Bulls excel at high level obedience with proper training. Pit Bulls have been bred for dog fights, and unfortunately a dog that is abused, neglected, or whose instinctive aggression is encouraged, can become hostile and dangerous. Pit Bulls can adapt to apartment life with enough exercise.

lnteresting Pit Bull Trivia Low-Cost North Dakota Spay & Neuter Clinics
Some people believe that Pit Bulls are identical to what Bulldogs were in the past. Unfortunately, Pit Bulls are often used for illegal dog fighting. A disproportionate number of Pit Bulls are put down in major American cities each year. American Pit Bull Terriers are very similar, and some argue identical, to Staffordshire Bull Terriers.
