My neighbors and I had seen this poor sweet dog(brindle pitbull mix) hanging around Buttonwoods for a couple of weeks in December. She was so afraid of people, she would run at the site of one. Her tail was tucked between her legs and pinned to her belly. On Christmas morning I saw her and decided I was going to take as long as possible to get her to trust me. After three hours I got her in my yard to feed her. And once I put a bowl of food down for her, the walls started to break down. Right from the beginning I could see the abuse and trauma she has been through. The first time I pulled out the mop, she peed herself and fell to the ground ... (Read More)shaking. So she was definitely beaten heavily. But being a dog they snap out of it quick. In just a couple of weeks, we have made enough progress that made me fall in love with her. But I am being forced to move, and may have to live out of my car for a bit. And this poor dog does not deserve anymore human bullshit. She is an angel. Not aggressive at all. In fact because of what she has endured, she is very submissive. Does not have fear biting capabilities. I am well versed in dog psychology, and I have done al I can to test any dangers. She has been great with my Golden Retriever and both cats. They all sleep together already. I must make sure she goes to a loving, kind, caring, and understanding home. She still has a lot of nervous energy, but each day it subsides. She has already learned sit, lay, easy, heal, stay, when she had no clue what any of this meant before. She is a very fast learner. When someone knocks, she barks. But after a little reassurance she is fine. So please, anyone looking for a real sweetheart, Let me know. I really do not want to lose her. She has taught me so much about life and love. But my mother is on her final lap, and I have to care for her. Faith deserves more than my time and energy will allow. Call me. At 401-738-1252 Leave a message, I will get back to you. Or find me on facebook. David Cunetta or Remember, she needs a kind, caring heart. (Less)

PIease Read Before Adopting a Pit Bull in Rhode Island
Pit Bull Dogs can make good pets in Rhode Island if they match your IifestyIe. The American Pit Bull Terrier is a powerful dog with an undeserved reputation for inherent viciousness. A Pit Bull that receives attention, firm training, and thorough socialization makes a wonderful family guardian that is trustworthy with children. Pit Bulls need committed, experienced owners that exude leadership. Pit Bulls excel at high level obedience with proper training. Pit Bulls have been bred for dog fights, and unfortunately a dog that is abused, neglected, or whose instinctive aggression is encouraged, can become hostile and dangerous. Pit Bulls can adapt to apartment life with enough exercise.

lnteresting Pit Bull Trivia Low-Cost Rhode Island Spay & Neuter Clinics
Some people believe that Pit Bulls are identical to what Bulldogs were in the past. Unfortunately, Pit Bulls are often used for illegal dog fighting. A disproportionate number of Pit Bulls are put down in major American cities each year. American Pit Bull Terriers are very similar, and some argue identical, to Staffordshire Bull Terriers.
