Pit Bull Mix

Compatibility: Not Good with Other Dogs, Good with Kids and Adults
Personality: Very High Energy, Somewhat Dominant
Health: Needs to be Neutered, Abused/Neglected, Aggressive

I tried to rescue this lovable dog 2 days ago from someone who had also tried to rescue him. He needs a safe environment with room to run. I have a vet appointment for Friday 4/28 2017 to get his vaccinations as I have no history on him. He has many lovable qualities, but has shown aggression toward my three yellow labs especially toward my 13 year old neutered female. I wanted to keep this dog but can no longer allow these other dogs of mine to be in danger from his aggressive behavior. I will have no other option but to take him to the pound where I don't feel very hopeful for his future.

Personality: Average Energy, Somewhat Dominant
Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

Tank is about 1.5 yrs old, neutered, and utd on shots. He was rescued from a small town on the reservation where he lived in an abusive home. When he came to us, he had road rash and cuts from being hit by a car. He's a little quirky, but very sweet once he trusts you. He would probably do best as an only dog or have a bigger submissive dog as a friend. He is people selective, so proper introductions are a must. He will require a home where someone is home most of the time. He tolerates a crate for a couple hours at a time, but would not do well all day in one. He likes to sleep at the head of the bed beside me. He's no different ... (Read More)than any other dog with their own quirks. If interested, please fill out and submit an adoption application at mitchellanimal Vet reference, personal references, home visit (if possible), and experience with the breed required. Must have a secure fenced in yard. Adoption fee is $200 (Less)

PIease Read Before Adopting a Pit Bull in South Dakota
Pit Bull Dogs can make good pets in South Dakota if they match your IifestyIe. The American Pit Bull Terrier is a powerful dog with an undeserved reputation for inherent viciousness. A Pit Bull that receives attention, firm training, and thorough socialization makes a wonderful family guardian that is trustworthy with children. Pit Bulls need committed, experienced owners that exude leadership. Pit Bulls excel at high level obedience with proper training. Pit Bulls have been bred for dog fights, and unfortunately a dog that is abused, neglected, or whose instinctive aggression is encouraged, can become hostile and dangerous. Pit Bulls can adapt to apartment life with enough exercise.
