Update: I've now been given until 4/22 to get of her I need to rehome my pitbull. Exact breed isn't known, as my ex and I rescued her from a tire yard. When we got her, they said she was 9 months, so if that was true shes about 4.5yrs now. She is spayed. She has a lot of issues-not good with other dogs, not great with young children. He is great with people, but kids and other animals tend to get him overly excited. He is friendly with dogs on walks, but being around one for too long will make him nip at the other dog. They are currently 3 and 2 1/2 years old and both weigh between 68-75 pounds so they are not small but they are well behaved potty trained and great family pets they have both been raised with children ages 12, 6 and 1. They are great with kids and not just our own but any children they love to be around. They are kennel trained as well but seeing as they love to be with each other we've moved past the kennel to a large baby gate play enclosure so they have maximum room and can be together. They are hard to separate as well they love each other, so ideally we'd like to see them off to a great forever home without being split up. They have developed separation axiety if away from each other for to long and this makes me nervous when trying to re-home them because I don't want them to be broken up if it's avoidable. Our female is not yet fixed but our male is. Also our male is not always good with other dogs he takes more warming up but our female is fine with all dogs. I don't genuinly know how they could potentially be with cats given the opportunity to be around them however my husband is allergic to cats so we have never had any. My mother has cats and when introduced to them at her house they were trying to chase them and play with them like chew toys. So again not sure if it's just not a lack of exposure. Moose is in urgent need of a foster or adopter in Washington or Oregon. He can be with other dogs, but he has a trigger we've not quite figured out, so we're recommending he be an only dog or be with a very breed savvy person who will separate when not closely supervising. Here is what his foster says about him: Moose is just a big ole lug with a heart almost as big as his head. He wants nothing more than to be in your lap or at least at your feet. He will even paw at you if it's been too long since you've pet him. But his paws are big and stronger than he realizes so no children under 12 and ABSOLUTELY no cats. He loves his doggy buddies ... He takes the submissive role with our alpha female, he's still young at heart and has much more stamina than she does but takes correction well. He does jump up if people allow him to, although he knows it's not ok (doesn't do it with his foster), and is a big guy so needs sturdy people as well. He is protective of his yard but not in an obnoxious way, he loves a good chew bone and a nap. While he takes a bit to grasp a concept, once he does he is eager to please and very teachable. He has learned not to get on our furniture but that one lazy boy is ok for dogs and he lazes the day away in it. He's not a high maintenance dog but will need his daily walk and frequent access to toys/treats/bones/chews to keep him from getting bored. He's definitely a lover of the ladies but responds very very well to a strong male in his life. He needs someone to show him exactly what they want from him, maybe once or twice, and then he'll do everything he can to please. Moose needs a strong leader, structure, and boundaries. WOOF! MEET BODIE! This 2-year-old boy is the cutest and sweetest dog ever. Bodie was rescued from the shelter in January. When we pulled him out he had a cast on his leg and the leg had started to get infected. He has since had x-rays and a new cast, and we were told the bones have started to fuse together, though not in perfect form. But he's not in pain and is a happy, sweet boy. His leg is still in a cast and we will get it re-checked in about a week. Bodie needs a foster/adopter while his leg recuperates. If anyone can help, please let us know. Pit Bulls have been bred for dog fights, and unfortunately a dog that is abused, neglected, or whose instinctive aggression is encouraged, can become hostile and dangerous.
