Pit Bull Mix    Age: Adult

Compatibility: Good w/ Male Dogs Only, Good w/ Most Cats, Good w/ Kids and Adults
Personality: Average Energy, Somewhat Dominant
Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current

Zuma is a very sweet, 6 year old, 62 lb. pit bull and has about 2% chow in her. She is great with kids, cats, horses, and adults. She loves to run, even on a treadmill! She is an excellent guard dog. She's an indoor/outdoor dog...sleeps in the house. She loves to ride in the car. She loves to live on a ranch. We love her and she's part of the family but she doesn't get along with our young, female German Sheppard and we can't keep her anymore. We'd love to see her go to a great home here in Wyoming.

Rescue Me ID: 14-07-10-00310Caprice (female)

Pit Bull    Age: Young Adult

Compatibility: Good w/ Most Dogs, Good w/ Most Cats, Good w/ Kids and Adults
Personality: Average Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current

Caprice is a very well tempered dog. When she first came to the rescue she was reluctant to interact as we were not her owner. Since then she has warmed up remarkably. She listens to what she is told. Rides well in the car (especially if going for hamburgers or goodies), walks well on a leash and could care less about cats, geese and chickens, or livestock. Her only problem is she can jump a 6' fence if she thinks you are leaving her behind. This may be because she is unsure of her current surroundings and will improve as she becomes accustomed. But no guarantees. she also slips a collar or harness easily. She was surrendered because her ... (Read More)owners good not take her to the new house they were renting. She is Brindle in color with some white. (Less)

PIease Read Before Adopting a Pit Bull in Wyoming
Pit Bull Dogs can make good pets in Wyoming if they match your IifestyIe. The American Pit Bull Terrier is a powerful dog with an undeserved reputation for inherent viciousness. A Pit Bull that receives attention, firm training, and thorough socialization makes a wonderful family guardian that is trustworthy with children. Pit Bulls need committed, experienced owners that exude leadership. Pit Bulls excel at high level obedience with proper training. Pit Bulls have been bred for dog fights, and unfortunately a dog that is abused, neglected, or whose instinctive aggression is encouraged, can become hostile and dangerous. Pit Bulls can adapt to apartment life with enough exercise.
