This is Julez. His story began a few years earlier when he had a brother named Moo. They lived outside in a not so good home with sporadic food and poor shelter. Moo was the bait dog and Julez was the fighter. It could never be proven, so despite several attempts to have them removed, this is where they stayed. At one point , Moo's wounds were so bad that he was finally removed and found love in a good home. That was to be short lived, because within a few years he had to say goodbye due to heart worm. His tail kept thumping until the very end. Julez was not so lucky. He still spent the next three years chained outside. He finally caught a break when his owner surrendered him. My son and his wife, who had taken in Moo, also took in Julez. But Julez was not Moo. Moo loved everything. Julez hated cats, so he couldn't stay inside. He was walked every evening and got attention, but we all know that is no life for a dog. It all came to a head when they had to sell their house and had no place to go other than to rent. Renting + pit bull = disaster. So Julez needed a home. The shelter was not an option. So began the race against time. Begging others to share on Facebook, contacting rescues, most who would not even answer. I have found in the world of rescue, there are so many who are so jaded and full of drama, due to the endless stories of desertion and abuse. But keep in mind there are some out there who desperately need help because they have no other option. So I posted on Rescue Me. It was my last hope. There was one amazing response... A man and his wife. They saw Julez picture and fell in love with him! References checked and home check done, and 'adopted'. He has PTSD and was recommended by his doctor to get a companion animal, and she can't have children, so she says he will be treated like her baby. She also just lost her dad, and depression was creeping in. They saved Julez and he returned the favor. Julez is now an inside only dog sleeping with his owners on a king size bed. Thank you, Rescue Me!

I was desperate to get Nico a new home. Unfortunately, we could not keep him. We feared the worst because of his breed. I spent almost a month researching, asking people and getting nowhere. I also feared he was gonna fall in the hands of a fighter or some kill pound; that I was NOT gonna do. When finally I came across Rescue Me! It was so easy to post Nico's info and pic. Within 24 hours, I was contacted by a great family and Nico is now safe in his new home. Thank you so much!!

Rescue Me helped my family and I have found Miley her forever home. A sweet family came across her photo and kept going back to her every time they visited the website. Finally, Shannon emailed me with the good news that she wanted my baby who we could no longer keep. We stayed in contact for a week emailing back and forth with questions, general information, and likes and dislikes each of our dogs have. We met at a local dog park with her husband and their handsome dog, Cooper. Immediately, I felt a connection between Shannon, her husband, and their dog Cooper with Miley. It was such a great experience and I'm glad Miley has her forever home and has a new brother to play with. Thank you Shannon and Travis for taking our baby and making her yours.

Stella is a wonderful Pitbull/Boxer mix. We got her when she was six months old. She is so smart, and was house trained when we got her, knows simple commands like sit, leave it, drop it, and never pulled on the leash during our walks. Even though she was about 40 pounds, she acted like a lap dog, and was such a cuddly dog. Well, my fairly new homeowners insurance company decided to do a visual inspection. I had only had this company a short time, and switched because my other company was going to raise my rates. I received a 'dog survey' asking about the breed, etc. I contacted them, and as soon as I said 'Pit', the insurance said basically you have 30 days to find a new home or they will have to drop my insurance. Unfortunately, I have to have insurance. I was so upset, as we didn't want to get rid of her, but it was the best thing to do. I cannot believe that insurance companies can do this without even knowing the dog's demeanor. I have learned that there are close to 30 dogs on this 'black list', and that insurance companies can drop a homeowner. It's really not fair at all. I found Rescue Me, and decided to give it a try. Someone contacted us within two days, I believe. She was a high school student, and was so interested in her. Her father and she visited us about a week later. Stella instantly took a liking to the teen. They came back the next day and took her home. Later that evening, she took a picture of Stella along with her other dog in her new home. She is going to keep the name, and even keep in touch with us. Even though we would have loved to keep Stella, this site has given Stella another chance at a good home.

My granddaughter's friend has three children. Her husband works nights and was elated to take Karma in as one of their own after meeting her. If I ever lose my Sheltie, I would take in a Pitbull. Of all my animals, Karma was always there as a friend. My grandson was devastated that his landlord told him he had to give her up or move. I cried a few days as I really fell in love with her. My male, 13 year old Sheltie wasn't going to accept Karma into my home. While I kept Karma until I found her a home, my granddaughter kept my Sheltie, Billy. My cats didn't like the new addition of another dog to take away their attention, and hissed at Karma, which started everyone running. Therefore, the cats lived in basement until Karma went to her new home. Thank you Rescue Me for your help.

There is no doubt that Rescue Me saved the life of one of the most amazing dogs I have ever met! I am a dispatcher at the local Sheriff's Office and happened to answer the phone when a neighbor was calling to see if he could 'shoot' the neighbor's dog after exhausting all attempts to find it a home. I searched for Pit Bull Rescues while I was on the phone with him and found Rescue Me. I asked if he could give me a week to try to use technology in placing this dog. He agreed. I immediately posted the information I had on Revolver. Within five hours, I received a phone call from someone who was willing to adopt him. I had yet to meet the dog, so I was a bit hesitant as I was told he was aggressive. I had to figure out how I was going to transport a dog, knowing he may sense my fear of him. We picked a day and my 14 hour adventure began. I pulled up to the residence and was greeted by this amazing dog, Revolver, who was so happy to see people. His owner has been incarcerated for six weeks and the caring neighbor would go over daily to feed and care for two pit bulls abandoned on the property. Within minutes, Revolver and I were fast friends. He sat in the cab of my truck as we began our long trip of transporting him. Revolver became my co-pilot for the day. A long day driving and several rest stops later, I was amazed at how well behaved Revolver was. He watched for me from the truck to ensure I was not leaving him for long. He played and walked right by my side each stop we made a stop. Finally arriving at our destination to meet up with his new owner, I realized how sad it made me to have to give him up. He greeted his new owner and they seemed to hit it off. As I walked away, Revolver tried to follow, I gave him lots more love and watched them drive away. I am elated that I intercepted the phone call, and that Rescue Me is a resource and for all the kind people involved in giving these dogs a chance. My blessing ended when I was able to find a local home for the second dog. This was an amazing series of events that saved two precious dogs! Thank you! Without Rescue Me, Revolver would have been put down!

Annabelle was thankfully adopted by a wonderful, loving family! She was adopted about a month ago (a day before we had exhausted all options and were going to be forced to surrender her). She was declined at the no-kill shelter due to her behavioral issues. Since her adoption, she has had a clean bill of health, put on much needed weight and has five loving members of her fur-ever family. She gets so much love! I would like to acknowledge the SPCA who paid for her spay and vaccinations (making her more desirable to adopters) and for offering lifelong low cost veterinary clinic services (even though she was declined for surrender). These two enormous gifts made her adoption so much more attractive! Additionally, they gave Annabelle free behavioral services. Annabelle was a bait dog (according to several behavioral sources and vets). With behavioral help, Annabelle has shown no aggression towards other dogs while on walks! The poor thing never asked for this. But luck and love were on her side. She is a family member and I have been invited to check on her several times. She is a new baby girl. Please, for people who are about ready to give up, use your local resources such as no-kill or shelter programs that help with spay/neuter costs and vaccinations. They also have (like rescueme.org) websites for RE-HOMING your animal called safety nets. Thank you, Rescue Me! You are wonderful!

I was contacted by a friend about a Pit in need. Rex was in an abusive home that wasn't right for him. The owners were about to put him up on Craiglist for free. In order to keep him from a nasty dog fighter, my wife and I swooped in and picked him up. We already have two dogs, and planned to foster. Rex was perfect... Except for his cat aggression. We fell in love with him and if we could've broken his aggression, we would've kept him. However, someone's grandson found Rex on Rescue Me, and brought him to his grandmother's attention (he lives with her). She had just recently lost her pit of 14 years to old age, and was lonely and wanted to rescue another. Her former Pit was rescued from a shelter, then badly burned in a horrible house fire, but she nursed him back to health and kept him for nine more years after that! Goes to show she loves her animals. So we took Rex for a home visit, he immediately fell in love with the kids, and seemed to make himself at home, so there he stayed. We will be checking on him, but he looks to be in good hands!

After receiving six pups from a homeless man, I have found four loving homes. The remaining two pups, named Nikita and Nyla, are still with me. They have blended with my current group of dogs and cats. They are incredibly loving and affectionate. Thank you, Rescue Me.

Marli was adopted by a WONDERFUL couple who are so excited to bring her home. It was a total 'meant to be' situation and I am so excited that I am able to add another success story to Rescue Me. Pit Bulls get such a bad rap and everyone is so quick to blame the dog. I am sure I will keep in contact with the adoptive family who is taking Marli and am so thankful for their equal love of the breed. Thank you, Rescue Me!!

I want to thank Rescue Me for help in getting Keiko Matsui a good home. She was posted for a few days. On the second day, she had two people that wanted her. My friend, Aletha, told me about Rescue Me and I am very glad for her help. Keiko is now in another city, about an hour and a half drive from me. A very nice young family with children came to get her. Aletha has donated to this site because they are fantastic.

Thanks, Rescue Me. This is Willia. She had been at our pound for a very long time. Several months is a very long time for a dog to be in the pound. We all loved her very much. She was adopted once but brought back because she wasn't a big fan of cats. We kept trying and trying to get someone to open up their home to this beautiful girl. We couldn't find anyone, and it was getting down to the wire for her. The wardens asked us, 'Have you had any interest in her at all?' Unfortunately, we had not. She was put on the paid list, and was scheduled to be put down the following Monday morning at 9:00. At just a little before 9:00 AM, a fellow volunteer received an email from someone wanting to adopt Willia!! She was overjoyed, but also remembered she was supposed to be put down in just a few minutes. So she hurried and called our vet office to ask if she was there and the dog warden had rescheduled! So, I rushed to the pound, and met the lady that wanted to adopt her. Willia fell in love with her. Willia never really connected with anyone there. She was jumping on this lady and licking her face. I couldn't believe it! So, we finalized with her signing a few papers, and she took Willia home. She's doing great! What a miracle!

I rescued Bailey from a shelter. She was about two years old and sweet as could be; however, I had an older dog at home that just didn't want to be around a playful dog. I wasn't going to take Bailey back to the shelter. I vowed to find Bailey a good home. I made sure I asked a lot of questions and I even wanted to see where Bailey would be living. After several contacts, I came across a wonderful gentleman who had no problem offering any answers to questions I had and I even got to visit the home Bailey was going to live. She is now living with two other male pits who she fell in love with the day she met them. The family that adopted Bailey continue to send me updates about her along with photos. Baileys family was a blessing! And Bailey has brothers whom she can play with daily. Thanks, Rescue Me.

I posted my grandchildren's Blue Pitbull on Rescue Me not believing I would have any luck finding her a decent home. I was without a place to keep her, and almost out of time knowing I would be having to leave town soon. I was elated when I received a call from a woman that was interested in giving her a home. She and her husband have several Pitbulls, and saw her knowing they had room for one more. Sadie was all wagging when she was united with her new family. They were excited to see her also. They were going to let her stay in the house her first night with them. Thank you so very much for helping me place her with such a good family. Your website was easy to use and easy to post her picture. I will donate to this organization because part of my heart now also has a home.

I want to thank ya'll so so much!!! Even though it was very hard to let Blaze go, with Rescue Me, I found him a very good owner and a new home. I almost took him to a so called Pitbull friendly, humane shelter only to find out after they refused my dogs. They said that they would have put them down within the days. My dogs are very friendly, as are a lot of Pits out there. I am so thankful that he found a very good home due to your site. Again, thank you so, so, very much for your help. Blaze, I will miss you in bed at night and putting your arm over me as we sleep. Love you, Lil' Man!!!!

I placed Chevy on the Rescue Me site after his former owner relinquished him to me, and I was no longer able to care for him. I posted a photo I'd taken of him when he was first left to my care, but I did not include my telephone number so I could filter through the responses. I quickly received an email and contacted the individual who lived a few hours away. Although this individual professed to be interested in adopting Chevy, she refused contact after our initial conversation. However, in the interim, I received another email. I reached back out to this individual to let her know Chevy was still available for adoption. We arranged for a meeting, and Chevy was placed with her and her family. We continued to be in touch for the next 10 days as Chevy adjusted to his new home. I feel confident that Chevy is being cared for properly and this site made that possible.

Rescue Me is very easy to use. I appreciated being able to read little bits about the dogs. I had to put my tri-paw to sleep a few weeks ago. She was a rescue too. My house was too quiet, so I started looking at a few places for rescues not knowing what breed would be next. I absolutely adored a white pit bull with many black spots. After calling the city to make sure pit bulls were allowed, they replied, 'we believe all breeds are great dogs and would never discriminate'. I sent an email to the person with the cute smiling white pit bull. We exchanged information. After some phone calls I got my sister to come take a road trip with me to get this dog. She is more than I expected. I am so lucky to have found her on your site. She is home with me now and she's already learned a command and it's only been two days. She's so smart and I am so happy. Thank you!

My neighbor had a pit bull on a chain. Her name was Samantha. She was a beautiful dog with a sweet personality. My heart broke every time I went out and saw her, especially through the winter months. I asked them if I could find a home for her. They said that would be great, However, pit bulls have a bad reputation, and I had no luck. I put her on Facebook and had my friends share her picture, but still no takers. I decided to keep her in my backyard until I could find a home for her and get her off that chain. An acquaintance and pit bull advocate told me to put Samantha on a pit bull rescue site. I found Rescue Me, posted some pictures and a brief story about Samantha. I waited for some time, and then one day I went to my email and this lady had messaged me she was interested in her. I could hardly believe it, because she lived five hours away from my town! We talked and she said that she fell in love with Samantha, and she wanted to come and get her. The rest is history. She now has a new home. She will never be on a chain again, and lives inside the home!!! A big thanks to Rescue Me!! I owe a donation!!!

Our dog, Watson, was picked up on Sunday. It is so very hard, but he did go to an awesome family who had a Pitbull before. They have a house with fenced in yard, children ages, boy 10 and girl 13. Someone is generally home. They go on walks, hikes and general play with him! I am very happy with the family that rescued him! Thanks, Rescue Me.

She wanted to find a friend that would learn to shadow her so she could keep her first one's spirit alive when the time comes for her to go to a better place. The new owner was nice and met summer first. That same day, she took her home. The meet was a success!!! Thank you, Rescue Me.

Bucky came to me because his previous owner couldn't handle his chewing. He had caused hundreds of dollars of damage. She had rescued him when his leg had to be amputated because his first owner didn't want to take him to the vet when he broke his leg. I was fostering this sweet boy, who really just wants to be with his people. He wins over everyone with his gentle and cheerful personality. This dog had some good karma coming his way, because within one week of posting on Rescue Me, I was contacted by a man who is a great fit for Bucky. He works from home, so can allay some of Bucky's anxiety. This man loves Pits, and understands them very well. His previous Pit had a leg amputated from cancer, so he even was familiar with tripods! I couldn't ask for a better home for Bucky. Thank you, Rescue Me!

We received several requests for Diamond from the Rescue Me foundation and I know we would not have gotten such a great response without Rescue Me.      City Dog becomes Country Pup! Rock was adopted this past Sunday by a great couple and now lives the country dog life. According to Rock's new parents, he is the sweetest boy and very well mannered and receives compliments on his looks and behavior when out in public. (But we knew that already!!) Rock's parents report they are head over heels in love with him and can't imagine him not being in their lives. Thank you Rescue Me for the ability to reach so many people and have Rock in a safe, loving home after spending his first year in a neglect situation. This site has saved his life.

I don't know how you do it, but thank you and thank you to his new adopted mother, Anna. We hope life is kind to the both of you and that Miami protects you for the rest of his lifetime.
