     We have had pits for over 20 years. When our last died at age 13, we were devastated. There was a hole in our lives and hearts. Encouraged by my husband's cousin, a St. Louis vet, we searched Rescue Me! for mid-Missouri. We found 'Chance' in Fulton and couldn't be happier with our choice. Listed as 'Bingo', we chose to call him 'Chance' to mark another chance for both dog and us.

     After being around for awhile, Jazzy grew on me and my family and we have decided to keep this American Pit Bull Terrier. We are so happy we decided to keep her, she is a wonderful addition to our family. I didn't realize it when she showed up at our door, but she had the mange, hookworms, tapeworms, as well as a urinary tract infection. It has been a battle, but she is all well now, and a happy fun over-sized puppy at 8 months old weighing about 50 lbs. of pure muscle. We also broke down and got her a playmate, which is an all black 12-week old German Shepherd. We went from no dogs to two new family members in no time!

I never dreamed that I would have to do something like this as I have always been fortunate enough to have my dog friends from adoption to the end of their lives - until now, that is. It took a few weeks, but I have found a dream home for Lucy. I didn't expect to find someone as great as I did. Don't give up! Your voice is all your pet has, and its up to you to make sure they go to a loving forever home - they can't do it on their own.      I permanently adopted my ex's beautiful pit bull terrier... When I got the call to come get her or else she would be sent to the pound I immediately came to get her. Not knowing that she was pregnant I left with my Mom to go on vacation for a few days. Needless to say my baby could not wait to drop 10 gorgeous puppies!!! I was overwhelmed and scared all at the same time. I wasn't worried about my ability to take care of them, but more so when they left. I then started searching for good adoption places. I put up a post on Rescue Me! and waited, getting scared that maybe no one would call. Soon enough the calls began pouring in!! Every person that I met through Rescue Me! was involved one way or another in animal rescue, shelters, or just was an amazing enthusiastic lover of animals! I thank whoever made this site and thank ALL the people who are loving my baby's puppies as we speak!! I know with all my heart that the puppies are now in loving amazing homes!! (plus the people let me keep a contact number to keep in touch!!)

     Thank you Jeff! With the help of your Rescue Me! website I was able to get Kyro a new and loving home! He was in an apartment building that had caught fire and was deemed unlivable. I am very pleased with the results and would like to thank everyone for their interest! Knowing that he is going to a good home is one of the best feelings in the world and without Rescue Me! we would have never been able to connect Kyro with his new family in his furever home where he will chase frisbees and tennis balls with dad and go on jogs with mom. He will also have trips to the family farm, a 72-acre playground where he will get to romp around with the rest of the family's other dogs. Thanks again, Jeff, and Rescue Me!

     I had almost given up on finding Norbert a good home where he would be happy, when Nicole contacted me from Rescue Me! I gave her the important information and told her to call if she was serious, just like so many times before. To my surprise she called back in a week, asking if she and her husband and child could meet Norbert. Well four days later they came to my home and spent an afternoon getting to know Norbert, and he was so happy to have a boy to play with that Norbert hardly left him the whole afternoon. In the end they took Norbert home and I get Facebook updates from his new family about how they all are doing. I am so glad that I took the time to wait for the right family, and thank you Rescue Me! for helping Norbert to find a loving family to bring him home.

     After nearly two months of trying to find a forever home for Lucy using my own network of friends and contacts, I was getting nowhere and beginning to worry about her future. My girlfriend and I would not be able to keep her indefinitely because of her 'issues' with our 5 domestic cats. She spent an inordinate amount of time cooped up in a room by herself when we weren't around to monitor her, which wasn't exactly helping her become better socialized either. Then I listed her on Rescue Me! and within a week I was get quite a few calls from people in the area interested in adopting Lucy. This is how William found out about her. He and his younger son came over to meet her and it was love at first sight! Lucy went home with them that very day for a 'trial run' and things worked out perfectly. Now she has a forever home with a mom, dad and two boys who adore her. Thank you so much for providing the www.RescueMe.Org website, I don't think Lucy would have found such a perfect family without it.

     I had already called the animal shelter here in our county, they had put a pickup order in for this Pit Bull but we only have one officer for the entire county so they said it might be a few days. I got a call on Monday from someone who saw him on Rescue Me!%A0- the officer would be have been within the next 48 hours - the call was from a woman who had seen him here and wanted to meet him if he was still available. They came and met him that afternoon, and took him home with them. They have sent me pics of him and he is doing wonderfully. He has found his true people. Thank you, Rescue Me!!!

     Rescue Me! was a godsend, seriously. I had to move to Denver where they have a ridiculous ban on pits. I wrestled back and forth for a month what to do... Stay in Montana with the dogs, or move on with my life and career. I didn't feel right leaving the girls without a good home for them. The day I posted my girls on Rescue Me!, I got a call from a wonderful lady, who took in both girls to a wonderful home. It is still sad, but I know they are happy and safe, and at the end of the day that is all that matters.

     Hello, I just wanted to say that I found a wonderful family through Rescue Me!, actually I was surprised how many calls we received as I was told it would be hard to place a 100 pound Pit Bull - it was just the opposite. It took about 2 weeks and a lovely family took him in with two children 1 and 3 years old. I even had two backup people just in case the family thing didn't work out. I just heard from them and they told me he has made himself right at home. Grey Baby, you will be missed!

This couple was so nice and they have 4 other dogs and live on a 5-acre plot of land back in the woods. All I wanted was for Curtis to have a loving home and lots of space to run and play and to have other dogs to play with. Now he has this. he loved the couple and they loved him... we will keep in touch on his progress. They adopted him and this is a blessing. They traveled 2-hours to come see him and all I can say is I feel great in my heart about this working out so perfectly. I will miss Curtis but I know he will be 100% more happy to be free and not be kenneled all the time. Thank you Rescue Me! for helping to achieve this wonderful new home for Curtis. Suzanne

     Dear Rescue Me, Fiona was in a temporary home that allowed her to run away. She was then found by some irreputable characters and abused with cigarette butts and sticks. They proceeded to sell her on Craigslist. A woman knew they needed the money for drugs but when she saw the condition that Fiona was in, she made up her mind to get her at all costs. In the meantime, her owner was extremely busy on every web site she could imagine, handing out flyers, visiting all the vets and grooming salons and pet stores and getting on Craigslist and letting the whole town of Corpus Christi know what happened. It took weeks of searching in every manner available and a visit to the pound every day. Finally, it paid off - the woman who bought her off of Craigslist saw her owner's posting on Rescue Me! and realized that this was the dog that all of Corpus Christi was looking for. She agreed to part with Fiona even though her little ones were crying and so was she. She just knew in her heart that Fiona needed to go back home. That very brave and courageous woman is now in the process of trying to adopt a pit bull puppy that has been in a foster home for a few weeks. We are praying that they choose her family for the adoption as they nursed Fiona back to health. Without her, we would always be wondering and have no closure.

     We rescued a wonderful pit bull dog, on the highway going through New Mexico. We were so crazy about her, after getting all of her medical care taken care of and had planned on keeping her forever, but our two little dogs made such a fuss and refused to accept Grayce that we decided we had better find her a home. We started looking for the best way to place her, as we wanted her to go to someone who would appreciate her as much as we did and found Rescue Me! We posted her and received three very interesting responses, one really peaked our interest. We took her to meet them today, and we are very happy with the transition and our hearts are happy with the decision we made with the wonderful people that took her.      Unique was a very special pit bull terrier. Just read her post and you can figure out her sad story. I stayed up tossing and turning at night knowing that she was in the shelter. No one in the local area seemed to want her because she was in the shelter for more than two months so I posted her on Rescue Me! Within 24 hours, Evelyn of Fredric, Wisconsin e-mailed me and Unique found her home two hours away from the shelter. Without Rescue Me!, Unique would still be in the shelter for who knows how long.

     Tiger had been in search of a home for a while. His kennel friend got a home sooner than he did and he was alone!      Abby, a beautiful Pit Bull mix who I rescued from a shelter, was a great addition to my family. She was still very much a puppy and still needed a little more training and time, oddly the same day I brought her home, I got a job that required a lot of time away. This was not fair to this young girl, so I made a very tough decision to put her back up for adoption as I couldn't stand the thought of putting her back in a shelter.      I had a few friends try to help me find this little baby a home. Everyone we asked didn't want her or it fell through. I Googled Pit Bull rescues. Rescue Me! popped up, after researching it, I went home and put Peanut's pictures and biography on this site. Within a couple of hours I was getting emails about her. I found her a wonderful family who has two other dogs, a nice fenced in yard, and a loving couple. Since I had so many people tell me they wanted her, I started asking for references; what vet they go to. I wasn't going to let her go to the first person who said they wanted her. After calling vets and being told about the owners, I finally picked who could have this sweet little girl. I am so happy I found her such a great home. I have my own Pit Bull and when I am ready to get a playmate for mine, I will definitely use this site. Thank you so much for making it easy to find Peanut a home, but now her name is Jo Jo! :)

     THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR RESCUE ME!!! Sarge found us as a stray and changed my ideas on the Pit Bull breed. I fell in love with him, but my rescued Lhasa wanted nothing to do with Sarge and attacked him every time they were together. I had people interested in Sarge from ads I placed on other sites, but I didn't get a good feeling about the potential adopters and turned them away. Then I found Rescue Me! and posted Sarge. A wonderful family in Arizona saw Sarge's picture and profile and fell in love with him! The adopting mom said it best when she told me, 'There's 1000 rescues between Arizona and California but I just knew he was The One.' The family already has a Boxer/Pit mix and a great home environment. Sarge's personality is a perfect match for the family and the family is every thing I wanted for Sarge and more. I can't thank you enough for giving me the venue to help save the life of this very loving and gentle boy! From both his new 'Fur-ever' family and his foster family, Thank You!!!!

     The six week old puppy, a red nose pit bull, found a home with a young family with a fenced in yard and a dog door. This was a dog who was very affectionate, but simply was not made for apartment living. Or at this age spending a lot of time alone while it's masters were working and going to school. Lots of energy, the puppy showed it's boundless energy and strength by pulling the couch around the wood floor of my daughter's apartment, and chasing the cat.

     I had been looking for a new home for Koko for months with no success. Koko is such a great dog, but I did not have the space or time necessary to care for her like she deserved. I wanted Koko to go to a great home where she would have lots of space to run and play and would receive lots of love. I tried no-kill shelters, Facebook, asking around at vets, and PetSmart, but no one seemed to be looking for a pit bull. After posting my beautiful baby on Rescue Me! I received several inquiries and I found a good home for Koko. It was a tough decision, but the new owner made me feel very at ease.

     Hi Jeff, The adoption for CoCo was a wonderful, God send blessing! She was up for adoption less than 24 hours. My family and I took CoCo to her new home because we wanted to see her environment, how she interacted with her new family -- because she is pregnant and ready to drop -- and what vet they use, etc. We only had her ourselves for a little over a week, she was very skinny and we knew we had to get her home and try getting some food and water in her. My husband and daughter founder her. They were taking our Great Dane and my daughters Rat Terrier on an evening walk and CoCo came running out the woods like her prayers had been answered. So actually CoCo found us and we are so glad because now she has a family that knows about helping Pit Bulls deliver and you can tell they loved her from the moment they laid eyes on her. They already had a birthing room set up for her by the time we got there. The family that took CoCo took her on as a 'Foster' home but then I got messages from them they are now her 'ADOPTED' home. So Coco will never have to worry about anything, and I will stay in contact because I've become very good friends with them and we all love Coco. Thank you for allowing me to put her up for adoption and being able to to find this Pit Bull a long, warm, loving family that will help her have her pups and care for her with all their hearts. This is my second adoption that I have posted on Rescue Me! and they are both a success!! Thank you and God Bless you!

     Dozer found a forever home. He was officially adopted out February 8. He met his new family just over a week ago. This loving, wonderful couple Corteney and Stephaine adopted him into their family with their beautiful female dog Minage. He will be an indoor dog and given the personal attention that I so desperately wanted for him. He will have a huge back yard to play in with his girl Minage. Today he went to the vet and will be neutered. He also needed eye surgery and his new parents took care of that as well (his eyelash irritated his eye). Today was a bittersweet day. Dozer was so scared on our drive this morning to the vet, all I could think was this poor dog and all the pain and suffering he went through prior to this. We got to the vet he was so nervous UNTIL Stephaine showed up at the vet; he was extremely happy to see her. I knew he was home with his mom when he sniffed and wagged his tail and he could smell Minage. Thank you Stephaine and Corteney you ladies are the best!
