Gracie came to us about three weeks after the loss of our beloved Sugar. An eight year old Red Nose, red and white Pit Bull. We were devastated by her passing. Gracie is a beautiful, chocolate and white blue nose. She has developed an amazing personality and a lot of traits of Sugar. I believe Sugar's spirit went into her. Gracie is a playful baby. We have about a half acre fenced back yard for her to romp in romp she does. She is full of energy and life, but it's time to rest she thinks she is a five pound lap dog. She loves to cuddle and give kisses. She is good with anyone that comes around. She wants them to play with her. She is truly an amazing dog, and I don't know what I'd do without her. Thank you, Rescue Me!

George truly found his forever home. He is very spoiled by all three of his mommies! His disability (he is blind) is part of our attraction to him!! We still communicate with his foster mom. He stole our hearts! Thank you so much, Rescue Me, for helping us find our King George!

Italy was adopted today by a man who I know loves dogs and will treat her great. She also has the chance to grow up with a Pitt Bull, and I'm really happy for the life Italy is about to have. She bonded so well with them and they just loved her. I'm looking forward to pictures in the future of how well Italy is doing. This is my last picture of her, but I'm at peace knowing she will have an amazing life. Thank you, Rescue Me!

I am very thank full of this site. I posted my dog, Zenna, on here for a new home. I only had about a week to find her a new home. Because my gate was left open, my two Pit Bulls got out. I had a choice to find one a home or have one put to sleep. It was difficult to choose. Zenna was a part of my family. I am truly grateful that she got a new home. Thank you very much, Rescue Me!

I placed my dog on Rescue Me because she didn't get along with my other dogs. I have young children and was fearful that the dogs would get in a dog fight. I got an email from someone asking if I still had my dog. I called them and we talked about my dog, the next day I took my dog to meet the family. The family liked my dog, but wanted to think about it for a couple of days. Two days later, they said they wanted her and they came out and picked her up. We have been in contact since the dog went to them. The dog appears to be very content and happy in their home. She is getting the attention that she craves and the spoiling that she deserves. I am so glad that they found my dog on Rescue Me. Thank you.

I found an adult dog on Rescue Me that I really liked named Crystal and Rescue Me set up a meeting. Bridget (the foster mom) brought along a puppy pal so Crystal would come out of her shell a bit. She had been rescued from a very, very bad situation and had been seriously abused. I kept them both for one night, but Crystals past scared me a bit, I was scared something would trigger her and she would bite my daughter. Now don't get me wrong Crystal bonded with my daughter in the one day she was here, wouldn't let anyone else just walk up to pet her except my five year old. Crystal is a sweet, sweet dog and I hope with all my heart that someone has given her a forever home and all the patients and love she deserves. So I took Crystal back to her foster mommy, but I kept the puppy pal which we named Loki. He turned out to be everything I was looking for in a pooch. He loves going for long walks and going bye bye. Thank you, Rescue Me, for my and my daughters new little buddy.

Rescue Me is a wonderful site. We are just starting out as a rescue and this site is the ONLY one that was willing to immediately post our dogs for adoption without us being 501c3 approved or with a vet reference. All of that takes time and we were scared we would be holding on to our dogs for a very long time waiting for those things to come through. Luckily, Rescue Me still posted our dogs and we have already found a great home for one and a potential for a second! You guys are saving lives and we are thrilled that Wayward Ranch Animal Sanctuary can work alongside you!

I had a beautiful Chocolate Pit Bull show up at my home. He was a very scared, little guy, and would not come up to my husband or myself for hours. We fed him and gave him treats, and finally he allowed us to pet him. He was so excited. We combed the neighborhood for any owner or idea who he might belong to and with no luck. We assumed he had been dumped. We know by his demeanor that he was abused and had cigarette burns on his hip. I posted on Rescue Me, and also had a friend put us in contact with someone that places rescues. I fell in love with this little guy, but having too many animals already, knew I was unable to keep him. There was no way I was going to call animal control to pick him up, nor would I have ever taken him there. I decided that it would be easier to place him if he were neutered and had shots, so I took him to my vet. I trust them. He was neutered and got his shots on Friday. On the following Monday, I returned a call for an inquiry and I sent her some more pictures and gave her the history of what had happened so far. The couple loved his pictures and said they would like to have him. I told them I would bring him to them and meet them and see the home right then if they wanted. Two and a half hours later, 'Little Guy' found his new home with the most amazing couple. When she opened her door, I almost burst into tears. She is absolutely precious and so is her fiance. He is a Marine and she is in the process of looking for employment. She has decided she is putting employment on hold for a few months to work with 'Little Guy'... Love it! She is sending me pictures and text messages of how he is doing. They are absolutely in love with him. I thank God they gave this little guy a chance. Thank you, Rescue Me, for being there. What an amazing organization. Thanks again for all you do.

I posted Jade on here. She needed a new home sooner than later. I have had a hard time keeping her in the fence due to a storm drain, keeping me from extending my fence. She was in danger of my neighbors as they threatened to steal her if she got out again. Jade needed a new home quickly. I received a message from someone that wanted to adopt her. I met them and they met Jade and took her home. Jade is having such a great time. As we were saddened to have to send her away, she needed a better quality of life. I am very thankful that people like this exist as she is going to have a much better home!!! Special thanks to Rescue Me in helping me find her the perfect home!!! We get pictures and information from the adoptive family regularly as they said staying in touch was not a problem. I couldn't be happier!!!

Brownie has been a sweet heart just waiting for a new home. A young family came and took him home to be a playmate for their seven year old Pit Bull. When they arrived with their children, Brownie was so excited to see their little girl. He loved her. It was a great evening, and when they left it was sad, but it had a happy ending. Thanks for your site. Rescue Me was the one that led to the adoption.

I am so glad this site worked for finding Apollo a home. He was abandoned in my home. I love animals, but due to lack of being home from long work hours I hate to leave them alone. I wanted to adopt him out rather than tossing him in the street or taking him to the pound. Rescue Me was in the right place and help me find Apollo a new home within a week. I hope his buddy Prince is soon adopted as well. Prince lost his friend and feeling lonely. Thanks!

Emmett, the blue-nosed Pit Bull, was found at a swap meet where his owner was looking for someone to take him. A good friend of ours could not walk past the emaciated puppy, so he took Emmett home. A trip to the vet showed that Emmett was full of worms, so he was de-wormed and received his first set of vaccinations. After his second set of puppy vaccinations, his new owner was suddenly evicted when his landlord sold the house right out from under him. We took in the owner, and Emmett, too. After some reflection, the owner decided that he just couldn't give Emmett the life he deserved with all the stress and upheaval in his life and he asked me to find him a home. We posted Emmett on social media and Rescue Me. We tried our best to fatten him up because he was so so so skinny. We worked on his potty training and his commands. We found that Emmett was a sweet tempered, intelligent puppy, and he got along great with the other dogs in the house - all four of them! He quickly learned to use the doggy door and tried so hard to keep up with the big dogs. We fell in love, but there was no way we could keep him. We live in an area that has outlawed Pit Bulls. Then we got the message... A family wanted to adopt Emmett. We made arrangements to introduce Emmett to the family while we checked out the yard, the house, their attitudes, etc. When we showed up, we found four little girls waiting for Emmett. The mom and the dad are awesome people who obviously love dogs. They had lost their Pit last May, after loving her for 12 years. They finally felt ready to adopt again. We all went out to the backyard and Emmett was smothered with love and hugs and kisses and he was just eating it up. He peed and the girls all acted as if he had just won the Nobel Prize. The girls fed him and argued over who would get to sleep with him. My husband and I just looked at each other. We knew, as much as we would miss him, that Emmett had come home.

A great family adopted Peach and her buddy Midge. They both were so great with the kids and I'm so happy they left together. We will still get to see them. We are very sad to let our dogs go, but happy they have found a loving home. When we move to the country we hope to not have any outside influence in our lives and our dogs. Thank you so much for letting us post here, Rescue Me.

Rescue Me helped in finding Jill a loving home. However, I would like to warn that people who are involved in Pit Bull dog fighting are using this site to find dogs. I had numerous calls from the 'wrong' people. Please do thorough background checks. I posted her on behalf of her previous owner. I am still in contact with her new owners and she's doing wonderfully... They love her to bits!

Paco was part of my family for almost five years. He found his forever home and an amazing new best friend. Paco is the type of dog that will only be close to you for a long time if he really likes you. That is exactly how it was with the new owner. I have never seen him have a connection with anyone else but me and my husband. As soon as he saw the adopter, they were friends immediately, and I just knew in my heart that it was meant to be. The new owner is a young man in college. Paco needs someone that will spend time with him and have new adventures. That is something I wasn't able to provide anymore. I'm really happy that he is in a good home now, and the new parents are going to keep in touch with us. Thank you, Rescue Me!

On the same day that I posted my fervent plea for a good home for our mixed Pitbull/Pug/Chihuahua, Marie, on Rescue Me, a family contacted me to express their desire to adopt her. The following Sunday, my husband and I drove for two hours to a very nice home in the suburbs, where we were met outside by a mature and easy-going couple, with an older pug. Although Marie was timid, she accepted the other dog's canine advances without reacting badly. The couple were affectionate toward her, as my husband and I explained the Marie's personality and idiosyncrasies to them. They allowed us into their nice home. Marie was reticent, but not agitated. We could see the hope and caring in the eyes of the couple, who explained that they wanted a companion for their pug, in his old age, and a dog for their nine year old son to engage in play activities. What an opportunity for Marie! She loves people and other dogs, as long as they love her! She wants attention, as long as it is positive. We knew she would receive both in that home, as well as patience and needed veterinary care. We are grateful for this website and for the family who opened their hearts and home to Marie. I believe that each will benefit greatly, because she is a good dog and they are a good family. Thank you!

This is Julez. His story began a few years earlier when he had a brother named Moo. They lived outside in a not so good home with sporadic food and poor shelter. Moo was the bait dog and Julez was the fighter. It could never be proven, so despite several attempts to have them removed, this is where they stayed. At one point , Moo's wounds were so bad that he was finally removed and found love in a good home. That was to be short lived, because within a few years he had to say goodbye due to heart worm. His tail kept thumping until the very end. Julez was not so lucky. He still spent the next three years chained outside. He finally caught a break when his owner surrendered him. My son and his wife, who had taken in Moo, also took in Julez. But Julez was not Moo. Moo loved everything. Julez hated cats, so he couldn't stay inside. He was walked every evening and got attention, but we all know that is no life for a dog. It all came to a head when they had to sell their house and had no place to go other than to rent. Renting + pit bull = disaster. So Julez needed a home. The shelter was not an option. So began the race against time. Begging others to share on Facebook, contacting rescues, most who would not even answer. I have found in the world of rescue, there are so many who are so jaded and full of drama, due to the endless stories of desertion and abuse. But keep in mind there are some out there who desperately need help because they have no other option. So I posted on Rescue Me. It was my last hope. There was one amazing response... A man and his wife. They saw Julez picture and fell in love with him! References checked and home check done, and 'adopted'. He has PTSD and was recommended by his doctor to get a companion animal, and she can't have children, so she says he will be treated like her baby. She also just lost her dad, and depression was creeping in. They saved Julez and he returned the favor. Julez is now an inside only dog sleeping with his owners on a king size bed. Thank you, Rescue Me!

Last night at midnight I received an email as a result of my post on your site. The email said, 'Please, please call me. That is my dog!'. I called her, even though it was midnight, and she was at my house in 15 minutes. She got out of her car, called out 'Tripp, Tripp- come here, boy!', and he RAN to her and was all over her. She was crying, I was crying. My neighbor who had helped with the dog was crying. He had been stolen from her yard on Mother's Day. She had given up. And in less than four hours on Rescue Me, he was reunited with his owner. What a wonderful service you provide. I will certainly be giving you a donation, and I sure hope that she does, too!      Rescue Me helped my family and I have found Miley her forever home. A sweet family came across her photo and kept going back to her every time they visited the website. Finally, Shannon emailed me with the good news that she wanted my baby who we could no longer keep. We stayed in contact for a week emailing back and forth with questions, general information, and likes and dislikes each of our dogs have. We met at a local dog park with her husband and their handsome dog, Cooper. Immediately, I felt a connection between Shannon, her husband, and their dog Cooper with Miley. It was such a great experience and I'm glad Miley has her forever home and has a new brother to play with. Thank you Shannon and Travis for taking our baby and making her yours.

Stella is a wonderful Pitbull/Boxer mix. We got her when she was six months old. She is so smart, and was house trained when we got her, knows simple commands like sit, leave it, drop it, and never pulled on the leash during our walks. Even though she was about 40 pounds, she acted like a lap dog, and was such a cuddly dog. Well, my fairly new homeowners insurance company decided to do a visual inspection. I had only had this company a short time, and switched because my other company was going to raise my rates. I received a 'dog survey' asking about the breed, etc. I contacted them, and as soon as I said 'Pit', the insurance said basically you have 30 days to find a new home or they will have to drop my insurance. Unfortunately, I have to have insurance. I was so upset, as we didn't want to get rid of her, but it was the best thing to do. I cannot believe that insurance companies can do this without even knowing the dog's demeanor. I have learned that there are close to 30 dogs on this 'black list', and that insurance companies can drop a homeowner. It's really not fair at all. I found Rescue Me, and decided to give it a try. Someone contacted us within two days, I believe. She was a high school student, and was so interested in her. Her father and she visited us about a week later. Stella instantly took a liking to the teen. They came back the next day and took her home. Later that evening, she took a picture of Stella along with her other dog in her new home. She is going to keep the name, and even keep in touch with us. Even though we would have loved to keep Stella, this site has given Stella another chance at a good home.

The minute we got there to meet the family, I knew in my heart, I had found her a forever home. Thank you so much for making this process so easy!

I was so happy to find the perfect home for my baby girl. Steven will love her and continue to train Sasha to be the best she can be. He works with Pitbulls, and had one before Sasha. I could not have asked for a better person and forever home for Sasha. I even get visitation with her and pictures of how well she is adjusting to her new home. Thank you, Rescue Me!

Birnie was adopted after her friend Marley was adopted. The extra pet deposit was donated by Erin at Albert's Angel Fund so these two could stay together. We have received pictures of them lounging on the sofa together and even going for four-wheeler rides together. Birnie had been with us just a little over 6 years! Thank you, Rescue Me.

Marley found a home after being with us for three years. He came in when he was eight months old. He and his roommate, Birnie, are now living in the same house. Update: Marley's adoption fee was being sponsored by Julie in memory of her much loved dog, Briggs. The fee was donated by Erin of lbert's Angel Fund so the two dogs could stay together. He has a wonderful new family with a half acre fenced in yard and a loving new owner. This was a true success story. Thank you for allowing me to post him on your site.

Thank you, Rescue Me! She was adopted. I kept her for another two weeks and found someone who works at our local shelter. He saw Baby at the park with me and fell in love with her as I know he must with all the dogs he sees every day. But he wanted her!. So my story has a happy ending. He saw how much work I had done and how far she's come considering her horrific past. Thank you for checking up on our journey. Bless You.

My granddaughter's friend has three children. Her husband works nights and was elated to take Karma in as one of their own after meeting her. If I ever lose my Sheltie, I would take in a Pitbull. Of all my animals, Karma was always there as a friend. My grandson was devastated that his landlord told him he had to give her up or move. I cried a few days as I really fell in love with her. My male, 13 year old Sheltie wasn't going to accept Karma into my home. While I kept Karma until I found her a home, my granddaughter kept my Sheltie, Billy. My cats didn't like the new addition of another dog to take away their attention, and hissed at Karma, which started everyone running. Therefore, the cats lived in basement until Karma went to her new home. Thank you Rescue Me for your help.

There is no doubt that Rescue Me saved the life of one of the most amazing dogs I have ever met! I am a dispatcher at the local Sheriff's Office and happened to answer the phone when a neighbor was calling to see if he could 'shoot' the neighbor's dog after exhausting all attempts to find it a home. I searched for Pit Bull Rescues while I was on the phone with him and found Rescue Me. I asked if he could give me a week to try to use technology in placing this dog. He agreed. I immediately posted the information I had on Revolver. Within five hours, I received a phone call from someone who was willing to adopt him. I had yet to meet the dog, so I was a bit hesitant as I was told he was aggressive. I had to figure out how I was going to transport a dog, knowing he may sense my fear of him. We picked a day and my 14 hour adventure began. I pulled up to the residence and was greeted by this amazing dog, Revolver, who was so happy to see people. His owner has been incarcerated for six weeks and the caring neighbor would go over daily to feed and care for two pit bulls abandoned on the property. Within minutes, Revolver and I were fast friends. He sat in the cab of my truck as we began our long trip of transporting him. Revolver became my co-pilot for the day. A long day driving and several rest stops later, I was amazed at how well behaved Revolver was. He watched for me from the truck to ensure I was not leaving him for long. He played and walked right by my side each stop we made a stop. Finally arriving at our destination to meet up with his new owner, I realized how sad it made me to have to give him up. He greeted his new owner and they seemed to hit it off. As I walked away, Revolver tried to follow, I gave him lots more love and watched them drive away. I am elated that I intercepted the phone call, and that Rescue Me is a resource and for all the kind people involved in giving these dogs a chance. My blessing ended when I was able to find a local home for the second dog. This was an amazing series of events that saved two precious dogs! Thank you! Without Rescue Me, Revolver would have been put down!

Humvee has been adopted by a wonderful family. I wanted a better life for him and that he got in bucket loads... On a farm with ample space with two other dogs to fulfill his need for a pack. His new owner takes him for a walk twice a day and adores him. I am ecstatic that we were able to find him the perfect home. Very grateful for this website! Thanks, Rescue Me.

Annabelle was thankfully adopted by a wonderful, loving family! She was adopted about a month ago (a day before we had exhausted all options and were going to be forced to surrender her). She was declined at the no-kill shelter due to her behavioral issues. Since her adoption, she has had a clean bill of health, put on much needed weight and has five loving members of her fur-ever family. She gets so much love! I would like to acknowledge the SPCA who paid for her spay and vaccinations (making her more desirable to adopters) and for offering lifelong low cost veterinary clinic services (even though she was declined for surrender). These two enormous gifts made her adoption so much more attractive! Additionally, they gave Annabelle free behavioral services. Annabelle was a bait dog (according to several behavioral sources and vets). With behavioral help, Annabelle has shown no aggression towards other dogs while on walks! The poor thing never asked for this. But luck and love were on her side. She is a family member and I have been invited to check on her several times. She is a new baby girl. Please, for people who are about ready to give up, use your local resources such as no-kill or shelter programs that help with spay/neuter costs and vaccinations. They also have (like rescueme.org) websites for RE-HOMING your animal called safety nets. Thank you, Rescue Me! You are wonderful!

Diesel went to live with a loving family of five, where he has plenty of attention and love. Best regards, Loui

We found a wonderful home for Destiny. I emailed John, called his vet and everything just fell into place. John has two other dogs and he researched the dog whisper on how and when to introduce the dogs. He has the most wonderful setup for the dogs. We took Destiny to him and saw the setup. We've kept in contact about how Destiny is responding to her new atmosphere. John loves her and she loves him. I'm so lucky we found a wonderful home for her and it never would have been possible without Rescue Me. Thank you very much!      Russel wandered up in the country during the heat of summer. A kind family contacted Saving Whiskers and Tails, a local rescue. We have no shelter so we depend on foster homes. Russel was vetted and remained with his foster family for the next two weeks. A family found him on Rescue Me, and he was EXACTLY what they were looking for to complete their family. Russell went from dumped, hungry, lonely to the center of his new family's attention. They have checked in with us several times. They love him and he is finally at home.

I was contacted by a friend about a Pit in need. Rex was in an abusive home that wasn't right for him. The owners were about to put him up on Craiglist for free. In order to keep him from a nasty dog fighter, my wife and I swooped in and picked him up. We already have two dogs, and planned to foster. Rex was perfect... Except for his cat aggression. We fell in love with him and if we could've broken his aggression, we would've kept him. However, someone's grandson found Rex on Rescue Me, and brought him to his grandmother's attention (he lives with her). She had just recently lost her pit of 14 years to old age, and was lonely and wanted to rescue another. Her former Pit was rescued from a shelter, then badly burned in a horrible house fire, but she nursed him back to health and kept him for nine more years after that! Goes to show she loves her animals. So we took Rex for a home visit, he immediately fell in love with the kids, and seemed to make himself at home, so there he stayed. We will be checking on him, but he looks to be in good hands!
