Smokey is a four year old pit bull who has been at the Hurricane City Animal Shelter for several months now. He was surrendered to us because the previous owner was uncomfortable with Smokey's food/toy guarding. We have not seen that behavior since he has been with us at the shelter. Smokey does not tolerate little kids, but he gets along fine with older, respectful children. He would do best as the only dog in the home. This meaty boy is low energy, although he does like to play fetch. Mostly though, Smokey loves to just hang out and be with his people. He loves to be petted! He is super smart and very well behaved. He is a real ... (Read More)sweetheart. Smokey is an extremely good looking boy and we really want to see him go in to a loving, fur-ever home where he will be cared for always. Our shelter does not adopt out sight unseen, unless you are a rescue group. (Less)

Hi, My name is Bella I was surrendered to my foster family by my previous owners. I am fun loving and kind. I love to cuddle and i love to play. My favorite game is Tug o war. I am potty trained. I do not like to be left alone so i would need a home that has someone there at all times. I don't chew or fight. I love taking my humans for walks and love to be outside. I don;t listen very well so if i get off the leash you will have to chase me down. I get along with all dogs and want them to be my friend, But if i find a mean dog that attacks me i don't fight back. My foster family is asking for an adoption fee of $150 but will give $50 back if ... (Read More)you get me fixed. If your interested please contact them. (Less)

PIease Read Before Adopting a Pit Bull in Utah
Pit Bull Dogs can make good pets in Utah if they match your IifestyIe. The American Pit Bull Terrier is a powerful dog with an undeserved reputation for inherent viciousness. A Pit Bull that receives attention, firm training, and thorough socialization makes a wonderful family guardian that is trustworthy with children. Pit Bulls need committed, experienced owners that exude leadership. Pit Bulls excel at high level obedience with proper training. Pit Bulls have been bred for dog fights, and unfortunately a dog that is abused, neglected, or whose instinctive aggression is encouraged, can become hostile and dangerous. Pit Bulls can adapt to apartment life with enough exercise.

lnteresting Pit Bull Trivia Low-Cost Utah Spay & Neuter Clinics
Some people believe that Pit Bulls are identical to what Bulldogs were in the past. Unfortunately, Pit Bulls are often used for illegal dog fighting. A disproportionate number of Pit Bulls are put down in major American cities each year. American Pit Bull Terriers are very similar, and some argue identical, to Staffordshire Bull Terriers.
