Meet Griffin: this handsome boy was dumped by a previous owner on the property of our shelter. We found him sniffing around our kennels and he's been with us since. Homes for 'throw-away' animals in Mozambique are severely limited and we are desperate to find a home for our beloved Griffin. We believe his ideal home would be with no other pets and older or no children. He is basic trained and gentle on the lead. Because he came from an unknown background we can only speculate on his upbringing however dogfighting and abuse is prevalent here and we suspect he was destined to that fate at one point or another. Our shelter is small, run ... (Read More)entirely by a couple volunteers and the only one of its kind in this country. We are now overflowing with animals in need and sadly need to consider euthanasia of our unadoptable dogs. Griffin has been with us for over 7months! It has become clear there is no home for him here and we are now asking the international community to please come forth and offer a good, safe and loving home for Griffin before its too late. Its our desperate attempt at a last resort solution... We will waive the adoption fee for anyone interested should they make their own travel arrangements but we will also be willing to discuss paying for part/all of the transport anywhere in the world if the right home is found. Pit Bull Dogs can make good pets in Mozambique if they match your IifestyIe. The American Pit Bull Terrier is a powerful dog with an undeserved reputation for inherent viciousness. A Pit Bull that receives attention, firm training, and thorough socialization makes a wonderful family guardian that is trustworthy with children. Pit Bulls need committed, experienced owners that exude leadership. Pit Bulls excel at high level obedience with proper training. Pit Bulls have been bred for dog fights, and unfortunately a dog that is abused, neglected, or whose instinctive aggression is encouraged, can become hostile and dangerous. Pit Bulls can adapt to apartment life with enough exercise.
